New Delhi: A big decision has been taken in the GST Council meeting. Government has made changes in GST rates of 29 commodities and 53 services. However, the decision on petroleum products has not been taken yet. In the GST Council meeting, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the GST Council has reduced tax rates on 29 commodities and 54 category services. Arun Jaitley said that the changed rates of GST will be effective from January 25.
And what did the finance minister say?
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that today it was not possible that any discussion on petrol and diesel could be discussed. He said that in the next meeting of GST Council, possibly considering petroleum and other exempt products under GST will be considered. The Finance Minister said that the GST Council considered simplifying the process of filing GST Returns. He informed that in the next meeting of the GST Council, approval for simplifying the procedure for filing GST returns will be approved.
Arun Jaitley said that the provision of the mandatory e-bill for the movement of goods or transportation of goods between one state and another will come into effect from February. 15 States will implement e-bill in their borders.
