Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan performed bhoomi pujan of Handia Barrage Micro Lift Irrigation Project worth more than Rs 1294 crores in Khategaon Vidhan Sabha of Dewas district. Along with this, he announced naming of Handia Barrage Micro Lift Irrigation Project as Baba Siddhanath Project. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also announced to make Harangaon a tehsil.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the government will leave no stone unturned in the interest of the farmers, the government is constantly working to improve the lives of the farmers. The government will not breathe easy till the agriculture does become a profitable business, Every step is being taken for the welfare of the farmers. To make farming a profitable business, we made Narmada water reach the fields in this area. The percentage of interest on crop loan for farmers has been reduced to zero.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that we all are one family. We are running a family, not a government in the state. Just as full care is taken of the interests of every member in a family, in the same way works are being done for the welfare of every person in the state. The amount of Samman Nidhi to poor farmers in a year has been increased to Rs 12 thousand.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the previous government had stopped many public welfare schemes. Our government has made farmers debt free by paying interest of Rs 2200 crore and they are being given crop loans at zero percent interest. The previous government stopped the Sambal and Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yojana and did not give funds for the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana. Our government started all the schemes again. Now elders are being taken on pilgrimage by aeroplane.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that in order to make the Ladli Bahnas financially strong, every month one thousand rupees are coming in the accounts of the sisters. He said that soon the amount coming into the accounts of the sisters would be increased from one thousand to three thousand gradually. More than 45 lakh daughters of the state are being benefitted from the Ladli Laxmi Yojana. There are 1.25 crore Ladli Bahnas in the state. Now the sisters of 21 years of age and the sisters of the families having less than 5 acres of land with tractor are also eligible for Ladli Bahna Yojana. Because of 50 percent reservation in panchayats and urban bodies, today the sisters are running the government.
The Chief Minister said that respect and dignity of sisters is taken full care of in the state. The liquor ahatas have been closed. There is a provision of death sentence for those who abuse sisters. Along with this, bulldozers are being run on the houses of miscreants.
The Chief Minister said that I will not allow poorness in education of sons and daughters. Children are being given books, uniforms, cycles, laptops and now scooties are also given to the toppers. The government will also pay the fees for higher education of meritorious students. Government recruitment is being done on one lakh posts in the state, loans are being provided for self-employment and honorarium is also being given along with training under the Mukhya Mantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana. Every hand is being given work.
Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the programme with Kanya Pujan. Greeted the sisters by showering flowers. Sisters tied Rakhi to the Chief Minister on the stage. A short film related to the project by Narmada Valley Development Authority was also screened in the programme.
Water Resources Minister Tulsi Ram Silawat, Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel, MP Vidisha Ramakant Bhargava, MLA Khategaon Ashish Sharma, MLA Hatpipliya Manoj Chaudhary, MLA Bagli Pahad Singh Kannauje, District Panchayat President Leela Ataria, Chairman of Dewas Development Authority Rajesh Yadav, BJP President Rajeev Khandelwal, former MLA Shri Rajendra Verma, other people’s representatives and a large number of Ladli Bahnas, farmers were present along with a huge public gathering.
