Odisha government allowed medical colleges in the state to resume classes. Other educational institutions, such as veterinary, nursing, pharmacy, and physiotherapy colleges, have been permitted under certain conditions.
“Government after careful consideration have been pleased to reopen all medical colleges and other institution of teaching e.g. nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, public health and other paramedical/allied medical science course in the State during this declining phase of the Covid-19,” said the State Health Department in a letter to the Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET).
Here is the latest guidelines by the Odisha government:
- While theory classes will continue to be offered online, authorities will be able to hold practical/clinical classes and examinations in groups of up to 50 people.
- To attend such sessions, students must obtain written permission from their parents or guardians.
- Students will be screened for Covid-19 symptoms by the educational institutions.
Students must follow Covid-approved procedures, such as wearing masks, washing their hands, and avoiding crowded areas.
- The guidelines stated that fully vaccinated and unvaccinated/partially vaccinated students should be separated, and that institutions should begin vaccination drives for students and college staff in collaboration with local health officials.
- According to government regulations, the administrative office will be open on all working days.
