According to our reporters, gold merchants in Gujarat’s Rajkot have joined forces with the state government to provide freebies to those who visit vaccination clinics in the region.
These presents include a gold nose pin for women and a hand blender for men who receive their vaccine dose at Rajkot vaccination centers. This follows the Union Health Ministry’s decision to encourage vaccination for those over 45 to help deter the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
It should be noted that Gujarat recorded 3,280 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the largest increase in a day, bringing the total number of infections to 3,24,878 while 17 deaths brought the total to 4,598.
Gujarat currently has 17,348 active incidents, according to the state health department. Seven patients died in Ahmedabad and Surat, respectively, while two died in Rajkot and one in Vadodara district.

Ahmedabad city had the most cases in the state in the previous 24 hours, with 798, followed by Surat (615), Rajkot (321), Vadodara (218), Surat district (196), Vadodara district (124), and Patan district (107).
According to the release, 70.38 lakh people in Gujarat have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 8.47 lakh have received the second dose.
