The administration sprung into action as soon as information was received about the fire that broke out in a part of old Mantralaya building on Saturday morning.
The fire was immediately brought under control with the help of various agencies.
Under the guidance of Chief Secretary Veera Rana and Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Dubey, all necessary steps were immediately taken to control the fire and the situation was controlled.
Director General of Police Sudhir Kumar Saxena, Divisional Commissioner Pawan Sharma, Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra and other officers also reached the spot.
The agencies along with the administration worked diligently to control the fire that broke out in the old building (Vallabh Bhawan No. 1).
Teams from Municipal Corporation Bhopal, BHEL, Airport Authority, State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) along with fire brigades from Mandideep, Raisen and other districts reached the spot and helped in controlling the fire in a coordinated manner.
Due to the promptness of the teams, there was no loss of life. Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh said that after the fire incident, rescue and relief teams will remain on the spot for 24-hour monitoring.
Seven-member investigation committee
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has given instructions to take all possible steps to ensure that the incident does not recur.
A seven-member committee has been constituted by the state government for a detailed investigation of this incident.
The committee will submit the preliminary investigation report in 3 days and the detailed investigation report in 15 days to the government.
The investigation committee will assess the causes of the fire as well as the loss/damage and will also determine the responsibility of the people responsible for the fire incident in the old building.
The inquiry committee will also give necessary suggestions for possible measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Public Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Mohammad Suleman.
Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Dubey, Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Neeraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary Public Works D.P. Ahuja, ADG Fire Services Ashutosh Rai, Commissioner Bhopal Pawan Sharma and Commissioner Police Harinarayan Chari Mishra have been nominated as members in the committee.
