According to a police official in Maharashtra’s Jalna district, police have filed a FIR against former Aligarh Muslim University student leader Sharjeel Usmani for allegedly uploading some offensive tweets.

Ambadas Ambhore, a resident of Ambad in Jalna and a member of the Hindu Jagran Manch, has accused Usmani of using insensitive terms for Lord Ram in recent tweets, which he claims have hurt religious sentiments.

The Ambad police registered a case against Usmani on Wednesday night based on the complaint, according to the official, under Indian Penal Code Section 295-A (malicious act outraging religious feelings) and provisions of the Information Technology Act.

He added that the case will be transferred to the Jalna cyber police.
The Pune police had filed a case against Usmani under IPC Section 153 (A) (promoting enmity between various communities on the basis of faith, etc.) earlier this year, following his speech at the Elgar Parishad conclave on January 30.

In March, Usmani gave a statement to the Pune police department in this regard.

Sharjeel Usmani’s act of defaming Hindus

Sharjeel Usmani, a well-known Islamist hatemonger, used a tragic crime in Haryana to spread anti-Hindu sentiment. Usmani had tried to communalize a common crime in Haryana by disparaging Lord Ram and claiming that those who chanted “Jai Shree Ram” were nothing more than terrorists.

Sharjeel Usmani, a columnist for Newslaundry, said in a tweet that Hindus who chant “Jai Shri Ram” are most likely terrorists.

Sharjeel Usmani’s act of defaming Hindus is thought to be a case of personal rivalry. During a clash between two gangs, one Asif was killed. The faction of which Asif was affiliated had recently targeted members of the other party. Usmani, on the other hand, not only spread false information by communalizing the event, but he also harmed Hindu feelings by using derogatory language against Hindu slogans.

Sharjeel Usmani has a history of inciting communal animosity and hate against Hindus. He had previously expressed his grief over the death of Aaj Tak news anchor Rohit Sardana.
