Congress MLA Babu Jandel made controversial remarks about the constitution, after which the political atmosphere from Sheopur to Bhopal heated up. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has spoken of taking action regarding the statement of the Congress MLA. He said that action would be taken against Congress MLA Babulal Jandel for insulting the constitution made by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar under the Prevention of Insults to National Pride Act.
FIR against Babu Jandel
In the morning, Home Minister Narottam Mishra had spoken of action on Babu Jandel, after which in the evening the Kotwali police station of Sheopur also appeared in action and the police registered an FIR against Congress MLA Babu Jandel under sections of the Prevention of Insults to National Pride Act.
BJP had demanded Legal Action
BJP State Working Committee member Mahavir Singh Sisodia demanded a public apology from former Chief Minister and Congress State President Kamal Nath on the statement of his MLA Babu Jandel for the indecent statement made against the Constitution of the Congress MLA. He said that legal action should be taken on the statement of Congress MLA burning the Constitution. BJP leaders allege that the constitution which Babu Jandel took oath after being made MLA, is insulting the constitution maker Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar by saying that it should be burnt. So strict action should be taken against them.
In fact, Congress MLA Babu Jandel, who came to gherao the District Collector’s office along with the farmers, was furious over the non-payment of compensation to the flood victims in Sheopur. He had lost his cool, calling the country’s constitution and law rubbish. Also said that he will burn the copy of the constitution in the assembly.
