NEW DELHI/BHOPAL/CHANDIGARH/JAIPUR: As the 10-day pan India “Gaon Bandh” (village shutdown) protested by farmers’ of India gathering entered the fourth day, costs of natural products, vegetables and drain shot up in metros and a few urban communities.

Socialist Party of India (Marxist) pioneer Sitaram Yechury tweeted, “Ranchers sustain the nation. Modi’s priests taunt the annadaatas by naming their dissents an offer for ‘reputation’. This from a govt that spends Rs 4,343 cr all alone reputation, and has “no cash” to guarantee that ranchers get their due.”
