Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that every homeless poor person of the state will be given a patta and made an owner.
No person shall be deprived of a piece of land for building a house, he said.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has freed thousands of acres of land from the clutches of mafia by running a campaign.
This freed land will be distributed to poor families for housing. The poor will be given pattas in the government land available in the villages, he said.
If necessary, we will distribute pattas after buying land, Chouhan said.
The Chief Minister distributed Mukhya Mantri Awasiya Bhu-Adhikar Patta to 142 beneficiaries in village Gotara under Dhauhani assembly constituency of Sidhi district.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that I have come to change the world through the welfare of the poor. Every poor will get his right.
He said the state government has resolved to give patta to landless poor who do not have land to build their houses.
The Chief Minister said that this scheme would also benefit joint families living together in a small house.
He said that the family kept growing but such families do not have a piece of land.
Today is a day of joy for the poor and I have come to join them in joy. While discussing the Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana, Chouhan said that this scheme will prove to be a milestone in the empowerment of women.
In this scheme, every eligible woman will be given Rs 1000 which will be deposited in her account every month, so that she will not have to reach out to anyone for the small needs of herself and her family.
