Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today reached Behat, the birth-place of Maharishi Sangeet Samrat Tansen, and gifted the much-awaited major development works.
Addressing a huge gathering present at the grand function held at the Krishi Upaj Mandi Complex in Behat, he said that the state is currently undergoing social revolution along with development and making the residents self-reliant and economically empowered.
In this direction, the government has started the revolutionary Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana. The function was presided over by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar.
Chouhan performed bhoomi-pujan and dedicated development works worth more than Rs 101 crore, including the ambitious Tiktoli Micro Irrigation Project, by pressing the remote button.
He also announced to open a college in Behat and to rename Behat as Tansen Nagar, to provide Rs. one crore for the renovation of Anjani Mata Temple located in the area and to get the Chandila Dam renovated on the basis of technical test.
Chouhan also said that the administrative approval for the Guhisar road from Khurairi in Murar rural area via Bijauli-Gundhara-Jigania will be issued soon. He said that the state government has sent a proposal to develop Bhadwana, Behat, Kashibaba and Deogarh as tourist areas to the central government, for which efforts are being made to get approval.
Chouhan said that the government has implemented Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana to change the life of the entire family with sisters. To make the youth self-reliant, it has been decided to implement the Mukhyamantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana.
Under the scheme, the government will provide training to the youth for 700 types of works in various industrial institutions, so that the youth can get employment. In exchange for learning work, the government will give 8-10 thousand rupees per month to every youth as an incentive according to their skills. Registration for the scheme will start from June 15 of this month.
Presently recruitment for one lakh government jobs is going on in the state. As soon as this recruitment is completed, 50 thousand more recruitment will be started. Along with providing jobs to the youth, the government is also working to make them self-reliant through schemes like Udyam Kranti and Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme.
The government is also paying the fees of the students pursuing higher education in medical, engineering, law and management etc. The government has also made arrangements to conduct medical studies in Hindi.
Chouhan said that the government has taken revolutionary steps for the welfare of the farmers. The central and state governments together are providing Rs. 10,000 to every farmer in a year. The state government has also decided to pay the interest on the agricultural loans of the farmers.
The state government will pay the interest of Rs 2,200 crore owed by the farmers. Similarly, Rs. 2,900 crore will be transferred to the accounts of 10,000 farmers on June 13 under the Crop Insurance Scheme, he said.

Humming his favourite song “Phoolon Ka Taron Ka Sabka Kehna Hai… Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai”, Chouhan told the women present in large numbers at the ceremony that the auspicious time has come after the hours of waiting are over. On June 10 at 6 pm, the button to send Rs. 1000 to each sister’s account will be pressed under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana.
He said that in order to give political representation, the government has given reservation to women in panchayat and urban bodies. Along with this, revolutionary schemes like Ladli Laxmi and Ladli Bahna have been started. 30 percent reservation is given in police recruitment and for the purpose of making them owners of houses, shops and other assets, only one percent property registration fee is taken for registering them in the name of women. With this, now 45 percent of the properties in the state are being registered in the name of women, which was only 2 percent earlier.
Advance storage of 11 lakh M. Ton manure for farmers
Sharing the good news to the farmers present, Chouhan said that they should not worry at all about fertilizers for the Kharif crop. The government has made advance storage of 11 lakh metric tonnes of manure. Farmers can take manure whenever they want. Along with this, if they take manure in advance before 2 months, then the government will also pay the interest for the same.
Generosity of the Chief Minister lead to establishment of great dimensions of development in Murar Rural : Union Minister Tomar
Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Tomar said that due to the generosity of Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the efforts of regional MLA Bharat Singh Kushwaha, great dimensions of development have been established in the Gwalior rural assembly constituency. He thanked Chouhan for approving Tiktoli Micro Irrigation Project. This project will provide irrigation facilities to 27 villages in the area. The local farmers were eagerly waiting for the construction of the canal. Tomar said that Chouhan has also gifted 3-3 Tehsils to Gwalior Rural Assembly Constituency, which is a reflection of his generosity.
He said that due to the efforts of Bharat Singh, numerous roads including Behat to Malanpur, Bargaon to Chitora, Mohanpur to Behat have been built. Not only this, Shri Kushwaha has also done the work of providing the golden agers with dental implants.
Minister of State for Horticulture and Food Processing (Independent Charge) and Regional MLA Shri Bharat Singh Kushwaha thanked Chief Minister Chouhan for extending his whole-hearted help for the development. He said that works worth more than Rs 2 thousand 816 crore have been conducted in Gwalior rural assembly constituency during the last decade. The region has been gifted with 3-3 tehsils including construction of 15 electrical sub-stations, community and sub-health centers, mandi for farmers and MP Agro’s warehouse in Behat along with major roads built at a cost of Rs.600 crore. Also, as an innovation, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has given free computer education to 4 thousand youths here.
