Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav today chaired a meeting at the Mantralaya to review the initiatives and schemes of the Women and Child Development Department. Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria was present in the meeting as well.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted the importance of connecting Ladli Behna to small-scale industries and business activities.

He stated that identifying skilled Ladli Behna and linking them to these industries would pave the way for their economic upliftment. This support should be extended to the beneficiary sisters.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that CSR funds should be allocated for the construction of Anganwadi centers in the state.

He commended the public cooperation received in organizing and enhancing the convenience of these centers.

The meeting also addressed the need to improve the effectiveness of Anganwadi centers in tribal-dominated areas.

Currently, 97,339 Anganwadi centers are operational in the state, benefiting 8.1 million women and children.

Dr. Yadav instructed for continuous monitoring of various programs, including Mission Vatsalya.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also apprised himself regarding Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, Saksham Anganwadi Evam Poshan, Supplementary Nutrition Diet Program, Nutrition Campaign, Prime Minister Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan (PM Jan-Man), Pre-School Education Activity, Smooth Operation of Anganwadi Services, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, One Stop Centre Shakti Abhinandan Abhiyan. It was told in the meeting that Shakti Sadan and Sakhi Niwas are being operated in the state for women.

Madhya Pradesh Leading in Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

Madhya Pradesh is leading in the country in Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. In the year 2024-25, 2 lakh 46 thousand 185 beneficiaries are registered in the state.

Since the launch of the scheme, an amount of Rs 1191 crore has been paid to the beneficiaries.

The objective of the scheme includes providing incentives to pregnant women as partial compensation for loss of wages and encouraging the birth of a girl child on the second delivery.

The Government of India has started the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana from January 1, 2017 in continuation of the provision of National Food Security Act. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also gave instructions for monitoring foster care under Mission Vatsalya.
