Deputy Election Commissioner of Election Commission of India Ajay Bhadu and Chief Electoral Officer, Madhya Pradesh Anupam Rajan today reviewed in detail the preparations for the Assembly Elections-2023 in a meeting of Collectors and Superintendents of Police of all the districts of Indore and Ujjain divisions at the Brilliant Convention Center in Indore.

Instructions were given in the meeting to ensure zero duplication in the voter list. Names of deceased should not be in the list. EPIC cards should be distributed to voters whose names have been added to the list. Every returning officers should visit the polling booths of their area and ensure availability of all basic facilities at the polling booths. Polling Booths with more than 1500 voters should be divided into two parts for the convenience of the voters and a new polling booth should be built in the same premises or in a nearby building. The facilities of the polling team and security personnel coming to vote at the polling booth should be taken care of, so that they have a good experience while voting.

It was directed in the meeting that ballot preparation should be done well for the employees engaged in election work, senior citizens above 80 years of age and disabled people. BLA should be aware which voters are to be provided the facility of postal ballot. The election code of conduct should be strictly followed. Special monitoring should be maintained on social media, so that no person can spoil the atmosphere by posting or re-posting communal posts. To maintain law and order, prohibitory action and action to expel people out of district (Jilabadar) should be taken against those with criminal background. To prevent materials influencing the elections, vehicles should be strictly checked at various checkpoints in the district and at state borders. Strict action should be taken against illegal manufacturing and transportation of liquor. Flying squad and SST should work diligently.

It was directed in the meeting that the C-Vigil mobile app created for election related complaints should be widely publicized. Along with making security arrangements in the polling booths of vulnerable areas, instructions were given to run voter awareness campaigns.

All the Collectors and Superintendents of Police attending the meeting were informed about the preparations made for the elections in their districts.

Among those who attended the meeting were Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Election Commission Rakesh Singh, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Ruchika Chauhan, Inspector General of Police, Law Order and Security Madhya Pradesh and State Police Nodal Officer Shri Anurag along with Indore Commissioner Malsingh, Ujjain Commissioner Sanjay Goyal, Ujjain IG Santosh Kumar Singh, Police Commissioner Indore Makrand Deuskar, Inspector General of Police Rural Rakesh Gupta and Collectors and Superintendents of Police of Indore, Barwani, Dhar, Khandwa, Jhabua, Burhanpur, Alirajpur, Khargone, Ujjain, Neemuch, Agar Malwa, Shajapur, Dewas, Mandsaur and Ratlam district.
