Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said efforts will be made to boost mutual exchange between Madhya Pradesh and Manipur in tourism, cultural and other fields.
Manipur is a beautiful and one of the best states. This state is the crown jewel of India, abounding in beautiful forests, water and public wealth. There is also a lot of similarity between Madhya Pradesh and Manipur. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the state festival Sangai Mahotsav in Imphal, Manipur as the chief guest.
Chouhan said from Mary Kom in boxing to talented players of other sports have made Manipur proud. Azad Hind Fauj of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose first hoisted the tricolour on Indian soil in Manipur itself. Due to this, Manipur has special significance. Manipur should become one of the best states not only in the country but in the world, the one which is full of gems is called Manipur in Hindi. This is truly a wonderful region with amazing temples. Govind Ji Temple and Gopinath Ji Temple are the centres of faith in Manipur.
Chouhan said that Manipur is pacing on the path of development under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. Manipur is a leader in the field of tourism. In the coming ten years, Manipur will be the biggest tourism destination of India. Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy also joined the inauguration of this festival which started simultaneously from 14 places of Manipur.
Chouhan said that Manipur should continue to move forward on the path of development, such good wishes are from the people of Madhya Pradesh. The beauty of Manipur is overwhelming.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the beauty of Madhya Pradesh is no less. He also invited the residents of Manipur to visit Madhya Pradesh for tourism.
The CM said that it is his responsibility as the Chief Minister to worry about the students of Manipur who are studying in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Chouhan also praised the cuisine of Manipur state.
Chouhan said that this is the 11th year of this festival which has been going on for last 12 years. The continuity of the festival was affected due to Covid. Taking part in the 10-day festival today on the seventh day, which began on November 21 Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh for the festival.
Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh gave the welcome address. Apprising about the traditional painting of Manipur and other artistic items, he also presented gifts to Chief Minister Chouhan.
Dances by artists from different states of the country including folk artists from Manipur and folk dances from Madhya Pradesh were also presented in the festival.
