Tribal Affairs, Public Asset Management and Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Dr. Vijay Shah said comprehensive efforts should be made for better operation of all the 6 gas relief hospitals under the department.
He reviewed the works and activities of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Department in the Ministry.
Dr. Shah said that comprehensive efforts should be made for better operation of all the 6 gas relief hospitals under the department.
For this, coordination with other government hospitals should also be done and their expert services should be taken, he suggested.
It was told in the meeting that the department mainly makes efforts to provide medical facilities, social support and other necessary facilities to the gas affected people.
It was told that the department has 6 hospitals with a total number of 664 beds. In which only gas affected people are treated. There are also 9 day-care units and 9 AYUSH dispensaries. There are also ultra-modern equipment, through which a total of 164 types of pathology tests are done.
Efforts are also being made by the department for economic self-reliance of these affected people.
For the economic self-reliance of the gas affected people, Minister Dr. Shah directed that paramedical and nursing courses should be given to the children of gas affected families, this will also provide them employment and they will be able to become self-reliant.
It was informed that the process of disposal of chemical waste is in progress at the Union Carbide complex.
The department has to get Rs 126 crore from the Government of India for garbage disposal.
In the meeting, consideration was also given to giving clean land to Collector Bhopal and Public Asset Management Department after disposal of chemical waste from Union Carbide premises.
Also Minister Dr. Shah reviewed the work of the Public Asset Management Department.
In the meeting, Minister Dr. Shah directed that for quick management of public assets, legal advisors should be appointed, who can handle the legal aspects of any government property in a better way.
This will speed up the process in property management.
