The Education Ministry informed that Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had been hospitalized at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) owing to post-COVID difficulties. Around 11:30 a.m., he was transported to the hospital and admitted to a private unit.
In April, Pokhriyal contracted the deadly coronavirus. Dr. Neeraj Nischal, an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at AIIMS, is treating Pokhriyal.
During his COVID treatment, Education Minister was also taken to the hospital; nevertheless, he was found healthy and discharged. Following his recuperation, the 61-year-old minister returned to work and was participating in meetings through video conference.
Lakhs of Students were anticipating Education Minister Pokhriyal to give a speech today on the class 12 board examinations. In an earlier statement, the minister stated that on June 1, he will respond to student-related questions.
Mamata Sharma, a Supreme Court advocate who is attempting to get the class 12 board test cancelled for CBSE and CICE students, has wished the minister along with many others.
The matter is still pending at the Supreme Court. The court had previously urged the Government to provide a justification for departing from the strategy set last year to compute grades without tests.
Previously, only choices for having tests in physical forms, such as examinations for a shorter period of time, examinations for a restricted number of topics, and so on, were addressed; currently, alternatives for not having tests are also being studied. In the event that examinations are canceled, the CISCE and CBSE are anticipated to provide results based on the previous three years’ performance. The final decision is still pending.
