The term of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly ends on March 6, Nagaland on March 13 and Tripura on March 14.

There is a Congress government in Meghalaya, in Tripura, the CPI (M) government is in power since 1993 and there is Nagpal People’s Front government in Nagaland and it has the support of BJP.
Tripura:
There is a 60-member assembly in the state and the CPM-led Left Government is in power in 1993. This is the strongest stronghold of the Left in the country and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar completed his fourth term. The party has strengthened six and one Congress MLA from TMC after joining the BJP. At the same time, BJP is exploring the possibility of forming a government in the state. Not only this, the party is also trying to form an alliance with all the regional parties.
Meghalaya:
The Meghalaya assembly also has 60-member assembly where Congress has power in the Meghalaya United coalition government for the past eight years before many political instability was seen in Meghalaya but twice, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma did not allow the Congress government to become unstable. . At the same time, BJP is trying its best to come to power with its coalition partner and Manipur National Lok Party. At the same time, the Congress MLAs and former ministers have joined the NPP, BJP and other local parties, which have made it difficult for the Congress to compete. At the same time, The Pawar National Congress Party (NCP) will contest the upcoming state assembly elections alone and bring its candidate to at least 42 seats.
Nagaland:
Nagaland also has 60 assembly seats and Naga People’s Front (NPF) led by the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland is in power. Here, BJP is a junior partner. BJP is trying to interfere in the state because Congress has lost its land as the main opposition party. Changing the Chief Minister twice in the last one year is seen as a political crisis. The BJP wants to take advantage of internal fights within the NPF. Former Nagaland Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Neiphi Rio has formed a new political party, which is unlikely to break the alliance with NPF and join hands with BJP.
