To promote Digital India in urban areas in the state, e-Municipality Scheme is being run by the Urban Development Department in the local bodies of urban areas.

Its objective is to provide services to the citizens of urban areas in a transparent and expeditious way.

In the project, online facilities are being provided by integrating all citizen services, public complaint facility, internal functioning of bodies, all payment and budget processes.

Madhya Pradesh is the first state where the facilities of all the urban bodies of the state have been brought on a single portal.

An integrated single SAP ERP platform based project has been launched to provide citizen services in all the urban bodies of the state. To provide the benefits of online citizen services by e-Municipality, www.mpenagarpalika.gov.in and MP e-Nagarpalika Citizen App mobileapp are being used.

Bharat Bill Payment System service has been started to promote digital payments in e-Municipality.

Now citizens can pay their property tax and water consumer charges through UPI applications (PhonePay, Google Pay, Paytm).

The Urban Development Department has also started the service of Whatsapp ChatBot in e-Municipality to provide better citizen service.

The internal system of urban bodies has also been fully computerized under e-Municipality.

The provision of approving all types of payments through digital signature has been made mandatory.

To promote transparency in the urban bodies of the state, all the budget and financial management functions have been integrated into e-Municipality and now the grants given to the bodies from the directorate level are being paid through e-Municipality.

E-Municipality in Madhya Pradesh is an excellent example of better budgeting and e-governance.

The data of all officers and employees of local bodies of urban areas has also been computerized.

The honorarium of the working staff is also being paid by the e-Municipality.
