Indigo, a less expensive airline company had to stop its A320 Neo Aircraft from flying service because metal chips were found in its engine oil at the Delhi airport.

In addition, there was also a hydraulic leak in another aircraft at Srinagar Airport. Both of these incidents have taken place in less than 12 hours. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has already ordered to stop the flight of 11 aircrafts of this company. These aircrafts​ have a special series of Pratt & Whitney (P & W) engines. According to sources, another A2320 Neo aircraft with the VT-ITX registration number of the company was stopped from flying. After completing the flight to Bangalore-New Delhi, metal chips were identified in this engine’s engine oil, after which the company had to stop it from flying. A few hours later, after it reached at Srinagar, its commander gave information about the hydraulic leak from the aircraft’s two number engines. This is also the A 320 Neo plane.

In a statement, the company said that the flight to Delhi-Srinagar flight was given permission after completion of the maintenance check. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation had ordered Prat and Whitney-1100-engine 11 A-320 aircraft to stop flying on March 12. Complaints of their not working engines during their take off were received from time to time. Of these 11 planes, eight are from Indigo while the remaining three were of Go-Air. Indigo’s three A-320 Neo aircraft were out of service in February already.
