According to an order issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, the Delhi government has given permission for the city’s stadiums and sports complexes to reopen on Monday, but without spectators (DDMA). The DDMA stated in its order on Sunday that there will be strict adherence to government standard operating procedures and other guidelines, as well as compliance with Covid-appropriate behaviour, when opening stadia and sports complexes.
The DDMA allowed gyms and yoga institutes to open with half their capacity last week, while weddings at banquets, marriage halls, and hotels were limited to 50 guests.
According to the latest health department bulletin issued on Sunday, the number of active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Delhi has dropped to 992.
On April 19, a lockdown was imposed in Delhi due to an increase in Covid- 19 cases during the second wave of the pandemic. With the improvement in the Covid-19 situation, the government began a phased unlock process on May 31, allowing construction and manufacturing activities.
Check what will open from today and what will remain closed
- According to the DDMA order, cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres, swimming pools, spas, schools and colleges will be closed, and all types of gatherings, social, political, cultural, religious, and otherwise, will be prohibited.
- The Delhi Metro and public transportation buses will continue to run with 50% of their seating capacity.
- Other prohibited and restricted activities will remain so until 5 a.m. on July 12, according to the order.
