New Delhi, India: A “PUBG ban” has been implemented considering the game addiction had “affected soldiers operational capabilities”.
As per a report by News18, a senior CRPF officer posted in New Delhi said that the commanding officers were told to implement the ban “addiction had affected jawans’ operational capabilities”.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnels have been barred from playing the addictive game.
All deputy inspectors-general have been commanded to ensure that no soldiers in their respective units has installed the game in their smartphones.
The game has proven to disturb the lifestyle of troopers. Many of them stay awake late at night that has led to sleep deprivation and reduced physical activity.
The report stated that younger troopers have grown addicted to the game and as a result, have stopped interacting and socialising with fellow jawans.
The order that was issued earlier this month mentions that the troopers are getting addicted to it and it is “getting them engaged to a great extent which is affecting their ops performance, aggressive and attitudinal issues”.
Commanders have instructed to randomly inspect the smartphones of the soldiers.
This is not the first instance wherein the game has been banned due to its addictive nature. Many states have also banned the #1 trending game on Google Play Store.
