Until 9.30 p.m. IST on May 30, India had documented 1,50,527 new COVID-19 cases and 3,028 new deaths. So far, the country has registered 2,80,44,137 cases and 3,29,026 deaths.
Tamil Nadu had the most new infections with 28,864, followed by Karnataka (20,378) and Kerala with 20,378. (19,894). On the day, Maharashtra had 814 additional victims, followed by Tamil Nadu (493) and Karnataka (493). (381). Backlog deaths that were missed in earlier reports are included in Maharashtra’s fatalities.
Cases and deaths in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, and Ladakh are not included in the numbers. The information comes from the health bulletins of the various states.
On May 29, around 20.64 lakh samples were tested in the country (the results were released on May 30), which is around 16,000 fewer tests than on May 28. It’s also about 60,000 fewer than the previous Saturday’s results (May 22).
The rate of positivity is decreasing.
The average daily test positivity rate in India (positive cases found out of every 100 tests) is decreasing.
On May 29, it was 9.4 percent, down from 13.4 percent the week before.
In the 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. on May 30, around 30.36 lakh vaccine doses were delivered in the country, which is over 27,000 doses less than the previous 24 hours. However, this is 14.31 lakh more doses than were registered a week ago at the same time period.
In the country, there has been a huge increase in daily immunizations.
India had administered an average of 23.39 lakh doses per day on May 29, up from 13.19 lakh doses per day a week earlier (May 22). Until May 30, roughly 17.7% of India’s adult population, 38% of those aged 45 and above, and 42.9 percent of those aged 60 and above had received at least one dose of the vaccine.
