Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan held a meeting with Collectors and District Election Officers through video conferencing from Nirvachan Sadan, Bhopal on Tuesday.
Under the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections-2023, the preparations being made in the districts related to the counting of votes to be held on December 3 were discussed in detail district wise and necessary instructions were given.
Shri Rajan said that the counting of votes for the Assembly Elections-2023 will begin on December 3 at 8 am with the counting of postal ballots. Counting of votes recorded in EVMs will begin from 8:30 am.
All District Election Officers should be alert and vigilant and conduct the counting of votes in a transparent manner.
Security arrangements by Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) should be made in the strong rooms.
On the day of counting, there should be uninterrupted supply of electricity and counting should not be affected due to any reason.
Fire extinguishers should also be compulsorily available in all counting centres.
All arrangements should be made smoothly at the counting venue.
District Election Officers should inspect EVM strong rooms twice a day and send report
Rajan said that all the District Election Officers should inspect the EVM strong rooms and the place where the postal ballots are kept twice every day, in the morning and evening.
They should ensure that there are adequate security arrangements for the EVM strong rooms and postal ballots.
Rajan said that all the District Election Officers should set-up vote counting tables as per the requirement for the assembly constituencies of their districts.
All the counting personnel should be given proper training, so that there is no delay in counting at any level. Also appoint one micro observer at each counting table.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Kumar Kaul, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Basant Kurre and Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Pramod Kumar Shukla were present in the video conferencing.
