Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra claimed the Congress MLAs cross voted in the presidential polls as a result the BJP candidate polled 146 votes against 122 votes of BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

The votes polled by the BJP candidate include 2 votes of BSP, 1 of Samajwadi Party and 4 of Independent MLAs.

While the Congress supported presidential candidate polled 79 votes against 96 votes of Congress from Madhya Pradesh, he told reporters.

Mishra denied his involvement of any kind in the cross voting issue.

He alleged the Congress MLAs who voted for the BJP candidate had defied the party instructions.

He asked Congress senior leader Kamal Nath to resign from the post of PCC chief for unable to control the MLAs.
