A senior leader of Congress, Digvijay Singh tested positive for Covid-19. The leader is quarantined at his residence in Delhi, according to his statement on Twitter.
“My Covid-19 test report has come up positive. I am currently in quarantine at my Delhi residence. During this time, all the people who come in contact with me keep themselves in isolation and take all precautions related to their health,” Senior leader of Congress, Digvijay Singh tweeted.

Anyone who has come in contact with me in the last 5 days, please self-isolate & take necessary precautions,” the chief spokesperson of the Congress party posted on Twitter.
Surjewala attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14 over the country’s raging Covid-19 crisis, claiming that the central government has been utterly negligent and barbaric when it comes to ensuring life-saving medicines, oxygen, and vaccinations for Indians. “When it comes to Covid-19, the Prime Minister is careless, insensitive, and callous. The Modi government’s irresponsible behavior has put the lives of Indians in jeopardy “At a press conference, he said, according to PTI news agency.
“When it comes to ensuring life-saving medicines, oxygen, and bed supply, as well as expanding health infrastructure and vaccine manufacturing, the government has become utterly reckless and inhuman. It has shown ineptness in dealing with Covid-19” he added.
Over 2 lakh Covid cases were registered in a single day in India, a grim landmark. To combat the outbreak of Coronavirus, the government has enforced weekend curfews and weekday restrictions in major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai.
This comes as the Covid-19 infection continues to spread across the world. On Friday, the country added 217,353 new cases, bringing the total number of cases to 14,291,917 across the country. It was the highest regular case count since the pandemic hit the world last year. After 1,185 new deaths, the death count now stands at 174,308 people.
