A Congress activist has filed a complaint with the Omti Police Station in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday for action over a fake manifestor of party’s mayoral candidate circulated on social media.
The complaint is filed by Congress activist Rachit Dixit who is polling agent of Congress mayor post candidate Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu. Advocate Ashok Gupta said.
The complaint is filed on ground of tarnishing the image of the Congress mayoral candidate a day before the polling on July 6, the counsel said.
The mayoral candidate Singh released a party’s manifesto on local issues on Monday, he said.
The fake manifesto carries certain issues which are not mentioned in the original manifesto of Congress, he said.
The Jabalpur police is investigating the matter as the complaint is annexed with the original copy of manifesto as well the fake manifesto, he added.
