Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that works related to tourism projects and tourism development should be completed expeditiously in the state. Subsequently it will be easy to achieve the objective of branding of the state and profit from business activities near tourist places. The development of important religious and spiritual places in the state should be completed at the earliest.
While presiding over the meeting of Board of Directors of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board at Samatva Bhawan today, Chief Minister Chouhan apprised himself about tourism development works. Tourism and Culture Minister Usha Thakur, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and senior officers were present.
It was informed in the meeting that work on Rock Art Park in Bhimbaithka, Diamond Museum in Panna, Tatya Tope Museum in Shivpuri is in progress. The construction of Raja Bhoj Museum is also proposed in Moti Mahal of Bhopal. For this, an amount of Rs 15 crores has been approved by the Government of India.
A detailed project report has been prepared for setting-up a Museum of Music at Moti Mahal in Gwalior. A project has also been prepared for ropeway in Omkareshwar, Bhojpur and Salkanpur in PPP mode.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that all the processes should be completed for the development of the area including the installation of Shankaracharya’s statue in Omkareshwar, Ram Van Gaman Path in Chitrakoot, Hanuman Lok in Jam Sanwali. Simul taneously the process of taking necessary approval from the Government of India in the ‘Prasad’ scheme should be completed for the development of Mata Vijayasan Temple Complex Development Project located at Salkanpur in Sehore district, Ramraja Lok in Orchha, Shanichara Temple in Morena district and Pitambara Peeth complex in Datia.
Chief Minister Chouhan inquired about the activities of Rural Home Stay Tourism and District Archeology, Tourism and Culture Council in the districts.
It was told that 226 units are registered under the Home Stay Scheme in the state, for which a portal has also been started.
Training has also been given to 200 home stay operators at IHM Bhopal. For the construction of home stay, the first installment amount of Rs 76 lakh has been given to the beneficiaries.
In this field, 28 co-operative organisations are working in 117 villages of the state. Humsafar project has been started for convenient movement of specially-abled people at tourist places.
The process of including Orchha in the possible list of UNESCO World Heritage is being completed at the level of the Government of India. Nomination dossiers are being prepared to include Mandu, Bhedaghat-Lamheta Ghat Jabalpur and Satpura Tiger Reserve (Natural Category) in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A proposal has been sent to include Gwalior in the UNESCO Creative City Network for the music sector. In order to give special recognition to heritage site Mandu, tourists have been linked with land and air sports under adventure tourism in Mandu festival. Floating festival has been organised in Gandhi Sagar.
Teams from Malaysia and Bhutan visited tourist places of the state. 40 selected participants from the Ministry of External Affairs have gone on a 10-day tour of the state under the Know India Program (kip). Festivals are proposed in Chanderi in the month of September and in Kuno in the month of October.
Presentation of Principal Secretary Shukla
In the meeting, Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture Department Sheo Shekhar Shukla apprised about tourism development activities in the presentation. He said that the process of execution by the investors is going on under the development of heritage assets Mahendra Bhavan Panna, Singhpur Palace Chanderi, Kyoti Fort Rewa, Rajgarh Palace Datia and Rajnagar’s Garhi Chhatarpur. simul taneously new capital investment of approximately 35 crore rupees and nearly 525 local people will be linked with employment. Activities are conducted in Ujjain and Indore in the field of adventure and water tourism.
The Madhai-Tawa cycling event has also been successful in connecting the youths.
A workshop for adventure and water sports operators of the state was organised in Pachmarhi in the month of May, due to which the objective of developing new adventure products would be fulfilled.
In the last financial year, approval was given for filming in 108 film projects in the state.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting honoured Madhya Pradesh with the Most Film Friendly State Award at the 68th National Film Awards.
Activities have been carried out at 50 tourist places under the Safe Tourist Places Project for women in the state.
More than 15,000 girls and women were given self-defence training and more than 2,500 women were given tourism and hospitality training. 189 workshops were held for orientation. 50 villages have been selected in the Tribal Tourism Project.
