To put an end to rumours, BJP national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said on Wednesday that there will be no change in state leadership since Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is a reasonable guy who had not slept all night while the state was flooded. He is the newest member of the club of leaders that provide the CM with a “certificate of continuance.”

All BJP leaders, including MLAs, were invited to a “Bhutta party” organised by Vijayvargiya. He also visited with a number of leaders, including Arvind Bhadoria, the minister of cooperatives, and had lunch with Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel at his home. As a result of all of this, there were rumours that Chouhan will be replaced as CM soon.

Chouhan was previously named by state BJP in-charge P Muralidhar Rao as the party’s “undisputed leader” in February 2021. To put an end to rumours of a leadership transition, he said that Chouhan will remain the chief minister.

Later, in June 2021, Union minister Faggan Singh Kulste stated that the state’s leadership will not be changed.
