Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Orchha, a place of Lord Ram Raja Sarkar will be made holy city.
He was addressing a concluding ceremony of the Prakatya Parv, started on April 4 last at the Kanchana Ghat in Orchha.
Union Minister for Social Justice Empowerment Virendra Kumar, State Minister of Public Works and In-charge of Niwari District Gopal Bhargava, Culture and Tourism Minister Usha Thakur were present in the function.
The chief minister said if Lord Ram is the king, it is only in Orchha.
Chouhan said “I have prayed to Ram Raja to grace to shape Madhya Pradesh on lines of his (Lord Rama) ideals.
He asked the residents of Orchha to cooperate to make Orchha free from drug and crime, clean and green as per the ideals of Ram Raja.
He said it has been decided to punish those who hurt the honor of daughters and women and commit atrocities against them.
The criminals and mafia will not be spared, the bulldozers will continue to run on their hosues, he said.
Chouhan said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where a prosperous, affluent India has to be built, we also have to make Madhya Pradesh prosperous.
On the Gaurav Diwas of Orchha, he asked the people to take a pledge by raising both their hands that all must participate in building the wonderful Orchha according to the ideals of Ram Raja.
State Tourism Minister Usha Thakur informed Ram Gallery has been set up in Ram Raja temple complex at a cost of Rs. 21 lakhs. She said that just celebrating Ram janmotsav will not work, his ideals and character will have to be implemented in the life. In the beginning, Chouhan his wife Sadhna Singh Chouhan offered prayers and aarti of Betwa river at Kanchana Ghat. He lit a lamp in the river.
