Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that his schemes for women empowerment including Ladli Bahna Yojana will usher in a new era in the next five years by overcoming injustice, illiteracy and poverty.
Chief Minister Chouhan was interacting with women and a large number of villagers who attended the Ladli Bahna Sammelan and residential land rights letter distribution programme in Bamhori kasba village of Raisen district on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister also gifted development works worth Rs 328 crore 4 lakh 20 thousand to the people of Silvani and Udaipura assembly constituencies.
In the programme, foundation laying, bhoomi-pujan of various works worth more than Rs 319 crore was performed and various works worth more than Rs 8 crore 45 lakh were dedicated. Public Health and Family Welfare minister Dr. Prabhuram Chowdhary, MP Ramakant Bhargava, MLA Rampal Singh and Surendra Patwa including public representatives were present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that the farmers should also be happy as the government will pay the interest amount of Rs 2100 crores of farmers on coming June 13. Apart from Rs 2,900 crore for crop insurance, a Kisan Samman Nidhi of Rs 2,000 each will also be deposited in the accounts of the farmers.
Chief Minister Chouhan announced to provide tehsil status to Bamhori town and Sultanganj and build an SDM office for Udaipura. Along with making Bamhori a Municipal Council, he also announced the opening of a 30-bed Community Health Center.
The Chief Minister also announced to upgrade the colleges of Silwani and Begumganj to post graduate colleges from the next session. Apart from the approval letters of Ladli Bahna Yojana, he also distributed residential land rights letters and approval letters of funds to the Livelihood Mission to women.
Mentioning the immediate formation of Ladli Bahna Sena in every village, Chief Minister Chouhan said that these Senas would be the eyes of the government, which would monitor development and welfare schemes and get them implemented. There will be a Sena of 11 sisters in a small village and of 21 in a big village. These Senas and all the sisters will now be a beloved family, which will become a weapon to eradicate poverty with co-operation and organisation.
The Chief Minister assured the sisters that he would continue to work for the honour of daughters, sisters and mothers till his last breath. He said that Ladli Bahna Yojana is a social revolution and heralds a new era of women empowerment. Schemes prepared by him like Ladli Laxmi, Mukhyamantri Kanya-Vivah have made daughters a boon from earlier a curse in the society, while elections to local bodies and reservation in government services have ensured adequate participation of half the population in development along with power.
Criticizing the previous government for discontinuing the schemes, the Chief Minister said that we have re-started all the schemes for the welfare of the poor.
The Chief Minister said that now he will give e-scooties along with laptops to meritorious daughters and will also pay the fees for higher education of eligible nephews and nieces. No one will remain homeless in the state and the government will also give them plots.
The Chief Minister told the sisters that now they will not have to be dependent for their small needs, an amount of Rs. 1000 will be deposited in their accounts on June 10.
He appealed to celebrate the Ladli Bahna Gram Sabha on June 8 and the festival on June 9 and 10. Earlier, MP Ramakant Bhargava and MLA Shri Rampal Singh also addressed the meeting.
