Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan performed puja as per Vedic rituals for the unveiling programme of the idol of Adiguru Shakracharya ji at Ekatma Dham, Omkareshwar. Chief Minister Chouhan will unveil the 108 feet high multi-metal statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya ji at Omkareshwar on September 18.
It is noteworthy that Swami Mitranand of Chinmaya Mission built a special bus in the form of Shankar Sandesh Vahini, in which the bronze statue of Acharya Shankar was installed. This bus was flagged off from Veliyanad, Kerala on 29 December 2017 by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Swami Parmatmanand Ji, Swami Ayanand ji of Chinmaya Mission and Culture Secretary Manoj Srivastava. This Yatra also covered the four monasteries located in four directions of India, established by Acharya Shankar himself. In this way, by awakening Shankar in every part of the society, the construction of the Ekatma statue was on the path of progress. Similarly, in this 108 feet high statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, the message given by him, Sarvam Khalvidam Brahmam, is included.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Jagadguru Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj had received this Gyan and he got this Guru. The basic message of India is that there is only one consciousness and not two in everyone, hence we are one, this message of unity will go to the whole world. Advaita Vedanta is the only one that can save the world from conflicts and give the message of peace, affection, love and amity.
I believe that Ekatma Dham will give new inspiration to the entire world with the message of peace not conflict, love not hatred and coordination. May all be happy, blessed, well and healthy, this is the message that will go here. A wonderful creation in the form of Ekatma Dham is taking place in Omkareshwar. In the first phase, the statue of Acharya Bhagwan will be unveiled, after which the rest of the work will start.
Craft specialty of the Ekatma Statue
This statue is a 108 feet high multi metal statue of 12 year old Shankar, which has a 16 feet high stone lotus base and a 75 feet high pedestal structure. The 45 feet high Shankar Stambha in the statue depicts the life journey of Acharya Shankar carved on stone. 250 tonnes of 31GL grade stainless steel has been used in the construction of this statue. 100 tonnes of alloy bronze contains a mixture of 88 tonnes of copper, 4 tonnes of zinc and 8 tonnes of tin.
The concrete pedestal of this statue has been built with the aim of showing a life of 500 years. In this statue, authentic expressions of 12 year old teenager Acharya Shankar will be seen, which will instill a sense of unity in the minds of people and will fill people’s lives with positive energy.
What is the concept of the Ekatmata statue ?
The idea of the Ekatma Statue of Adi Guru Shankar was born on 9 February 2017, when during the Narmada Seva Yatra in Omkareshwar, the memory of Adi Shankar was communicated among many great saints like Sadhvi Ritambhara, Swami Avadheshanand Giri, Swami Tejomayanand.
On the same day, Chief Minister Chouhan took a pledge to install a huge statue of Shankar in front of the public in the presence of saints and announced the installation of Ekatma statue.
To create the immortal memory of Acharya Shankar, once again a meeting of saints and scholars was held with the Chief Minister in which the matter of the formation of Acharya Shankar Cultural Unity Trust on 1 May 2017 for all the activities and events focused on propagating Shankar’s ideas was put up.
