Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that wonderful efforts are being made by NHAI and Public Works Department to control the quality of roads in the state.
I congratulate these departments for this, he said.
This effort of quality control should be continued in other departments, he said.
Efforts should be made to improve the roads by identifying them before they deteriorate, Chouhan said.
A better action plan should be prepared for the maintenance of roads during the rainy season, he said.
Chouhan was reviewing the roads of the Public Works Department and the new possible Pragati Paths of NHAI at the residence office Samatva Bhavan today. Public Works Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and other departmental officers were present.
Chouhan said that if potholes are visible on the roads during the rainy season, they should be repaired on priority.
Special quality inspection drive should be continued and prompt action should be taken on poor quality. Continuous quality inspection of construction works should be done, he said.
It was told that the Vindhya Expressway will directly connect the capital Bhopal to Singrauli. Its length will be 676 km. Environment and Forest Ministry’s approval has been received for Atal Progress-Way. Land acquisition process for Narmada Expressway is to be started. Bundelkhand Vikas Path will be of 330 km from Bhopal to Chhatarpur. Indore Ring Road will be built of total 139 km.
Similarly, the works of Malwa Vikas Path, Madhya Vikas Path, Gwalior-Sagar Ring Road and other Ring Roads and Pragati Paths were reviewed.
