Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday gave a word of advice for the officers to reduce dependency of the staff deployed in the residence.
The deployment of number of staff in residence should be as per eligibility, he said.
The excess staff should be removed from the residence and deployed in the police stations, he said.
He said “I have stopped the ministers from taking salute, than why the officers can’t reduce dependency on the staff deployed in the residence”.
He said it is necessary to ensure availability of sufficient staff in the police stations and movement in the field.
Chouhan said a large number of policemen, government employees are deployed in the residence of the officers, they should reduce it.
So that the excess staff in residence might be deployed for public work, he said.
The chief minister gave the advice during a meeting on law and order situation in the state held at the secretariat.
According to the sources, the deployment of staff in the residence of officers is for domestic work.
The chief secretary, the director general of police, the additional director general (intelligence) and other officers of the Home Department were present.
The chief minister also gave advice to the officers to connect with the public.
He instructed the officers to take a tour of the districts. Make a list of the officers who are not going to the field, he said.
He called for action against those who are giving helping miscreants.
He said ensure that no riot takes place in Madhya Pradesh.
CM Shivraj said the officers were instructed to keep a tight-knit system in the state.
Chouhan instructed to strengthen the beat system.
He also instructed to strengthen the intelligence system. Prepare an action plan for strong intelligence. He stressed the need to give training on riot control, crowd control and management.
