Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated a newly-built Ramayana Interpretation Center at Shivrinarayan in Janjgir-Champa district.
The centre is set up under the Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit being developed in Chattisgarh government, he said.
At the Centre information regarding the events of Ramayana and the places visited by Lord Rama during his exile period while crossing the paces now under area of Chattisgarh state is furnished.
The information of Lord Rama is given in a pictorial form through paintings.
Through these paintings, the upcoming generations will be able to get information about the events of Ramayana period and people will also be able to understand the historical importance of Shivrinarayan.
The centre is spread over an area of 6000 square feet and built with a cost of Rs 90 lakh. The Centre has two halls of 40 x 50 square feet.
Ramayan Interpretation Center as well as Tourism Information Center is established in a hall.
Along with the Ramayana Interpretation Center, a cafeteria is built to ensure serving quality food for the tourists coming here from across the country and abroad.
The tourists can get information from Ramayana Interpretation Center and Tourism Information Center regarding famous tourist spots of Chattisgarh besides booking their visits to any of these tourist places of the state.
A statue of Mata Shabri has also been installed outside the Ramayana Interpretation Center, where Mata Shabri is shown feeding her leftover berries to Lord Rama.
Along with Lord Rama, the idol of his brother Laxman has also been installed. The Ramayana Interpretation Center established at Shivrinarayan under Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit will be a center of attraction for tourists and through this, Ram Van Gaman Circuit will also be promoted in Chhattisgarh.
State Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya and State Cow Service Commission Chairman Rajesri Mahant were present in the function.
