CM Bhupesh Baghel wrote a letter to PM Modi urging for a minimum of 1 crore of Covid-19 vaccine doses. The letter mentions that around 9,98810 doses are left which is enough for only 3 days. He has also alleged that the demands are not being fulfilled after repeated requests. According to a statement, CM Baghel has also requested the PM to direct the Union Health Ministry regarding the distribution of Covid Vaccines to the state.
He has informed PM about the rapid vaccination drive against covid-19. The state has vaccinated all its 100% frontline workers and 91% health care workers with the first dose. Out of these 71% of frontline workers and 70% of health care workers are fully vaccinated. The state has also vaccinated 80% of the people above 45years with the first dose.
A statement said, “although the vaccination for 18-44 years has stated from May 1, 16% of the population has been vaccinated with the initial dose. Presently more than three lakh people are being vaccinated in Chhattisgarh every day.”
A day before the state has recorded over 3.5 lakh doses of vaccination. It is the highest single-day figure since the drive against covid-19 has started. The state officials stated, health care workers are strengthening the immunization campaign on a combat strategy. The state has also increased the vaccination centers to 4592 sites to avoid overcrowding. On Saturday with 1,22,587 people vaccinated Raigarh district records the highest number.
The infection rate has also dropped to 1.1% and the recovery rate has increased to 98%. As per the Health Department, more than 11 Lakh people have been vaccinated last week.
