On Monday, heavy monsoon rains triggered by cloudbursts and flash floods wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh. It has destroyed many public property in Bhagsu village and other popular tourist locations.
Taking notice of the situation, Home Minister Amit Shah took to Twitter to inform citizens about his concern with CM Jai Ram Thakur about the situation and that an NDRF team had been dispatched for a rescue effort in the hill state, which is currently underway. He further stated that the Centre will provide whatever assistance is essential to assist Himachal Pradesh in overcoming the situation.
‘The situation in Himachal Pradesh is being closely monitored due to severe rains. Authorities are working with state officials. All possible assistance is being offered.
In his message, PM Modi said, “I pray for the safety of those in the affected areas.”
Kangra district, 58 kilometers from Dharamshala, is also hit by heavy rain, and hotels in the area have reported major damage. After days of hot weather, several other areas in Himachal Pradesh have also seen severe rain.

The area was heavily flooded, with water flowing fast through parked vehicles and into hotels, according to drone photos.
On Sunday, heavy rain poured in several other parts of North India. Lightning killed at least two persons in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. In the south, incessant rain continued to pound areas of Kerala, forcing the weather service to issue an Orange alert for the state’s five northern districts.
In yet another rain-related incident, three people died, including an eight-year-old kid, after their house collapsed in a landslide caused by severe rains in Uttarakhand.
Locals shared a video of flash floods in the area, in which a little drain changed into a river due to waterlogging and flash floods. The flash floods happened after the area had cloudbursts on Monday, which led to continuous rain.
Authorities have issued a flood warning for the area following flood-like conditions in the district. Authorities are on high alert, and the state government is constantly observing the floods. Following a request for help from the District Magistrate of Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), two NDRF teams were deployed to Bhagsu Nag in the Shahpur division. In Nurpur, which is close to Kangra, 5-10 NDRF teams are on standby.
