According to the police, a 10-year-old girl was reportedly gang-raped in an empty school building in Haryana by a male and eight children who apparently videotaped the incident and posted it online. The crime was only discovered two weeks later, after the video became viral on WhatsApp, according to the family. Soon later, a case was filed, and the accused was apprehended.
Five of the nine defendants are alleged to be close family members of the victim.
According to the girl’s family’s complaint, the event occurred on May 24 at a hamlet in Rewari district. The accused “kidnapped” the youngster, who was a Class 5 student, when she was playing outside her residence.
According to police officials, the family heard about the crime footage on June 9 and filed a police report.
“The accused allegedly took the girl to an empty school building in the village and raped her. The 18-year-old shot the video of the crime while two minors forwarded it to others and made it viral,” the police said.
Five of the minors accused of rape are aged between 10 and 12.
