For students in grades 10 and 12, schools in Chhattisgarh will start physical classes on August 2. In rural regions, village panchayats will make the decision, while in urban areas, responsible boards will make the decision and classes will resume on August 2. Virtual classes, in addition to actual sessions in offline mode, will keep the teaching-learning process moving.
The Chhattisgarh government has stated that schools will reopen only in districts where the Covid positive rate has been less than 1% in the preceding seven days.
Classes will be offered on alternating days with a 50% attendance requirement. Students experiencing symptoms such as a cold, fever, or cough will not be permitted to sit in the classrooms, according to the official announcement, which also stated that physical education lessons are not required.
According to sources, all Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state will begin operations on August 2, while medical, engineering, and polytechnic colleges would reopen in stages.
In the tribal-dominated Bastar division, which includes seven districts, the government has also approved the reopening of hostels and residential schools.
