In his budget address, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel revealed plans to construct 119 new English-medium schools and three new colleges for girls. The annual budget was presented on March 1 by Bhupesh Baghel, who is also the state’s finance minister. Women’s and children’s programmes were prioritized in the budget.
The Chhattisgarh government has set aside over Rs 5 crore for the ‘Padhna Likhna Abhiyan Yojana,’ an educational initiative. The aim of this programme, which began in the year 2020, is to raise the country’s adult literacy rate. The government will provide adult education as part of this programme. The aim of this programme is to reach 100 percent adult literacy by 2030.
Under the state’s educational programme known as the “Swami Atmanand’ English Medium School Scheme,” the government has planned 119 new English-medium schools.
The minister has also announced seven new colleges and three girls colleges in the state to improve higher education in the state. In addition, nine new hostels for boys and girls will be built separately.
In addition, the government will have additional funding to continue the building of six future schools.
New graduation courses have begun in 14 colleges, and new postgraduate-level programmes have begun in 15 colleges, according to the minister.
The project of new medical colleges in Kanker, Korba, and Mahasamund has been budgeted at Rs 300 crores. The government of Chhattisgarh has also announced a proposal to establish a new medical college in each constituency.
In Nava Raipur, the government has also revealed plans to launch a new national-level boarding school.
