The results for the Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations 2021 were recently announced by the CBSE. Many students have expressed dissatisfaction with the computation of the results based on the Board’s evaluation criteria.
According to the CBSE’s prior announcement, any disputes over the computation of results will be submitted to a committee. CBSE issued a circular on Thursday that stated, “The Board is preparing the policy for submitting representations. The policy will be uploaded on the Board’s website by the evening of August 6, 2021.”
According to CBSE, any representations regarding results disputes will be accepted only if they are made by the proposed policy.
The circular read, “the schools who are contacting CBSE in any form, are requested to make the representations, once the policy is uploaded on the website, by complying the direction given therein. Any representation sent before this notification will have to be submitted again as per the policy notified within the given timeline.”
CBSE further claimed that it is committed to resolving all grievances within the time frame outlined in the policy. It’s important to note that the Class 12 results were assessed using a 40 percent contribution of marks from Unit Tests, Mid-Term Exams, and Pre-Board Exams.
The marks also included 30% of Class 11 marks and 30% of Class 10 marks from the average theory of the best three performing subjects out of five main subjects.
Following the cancellation of both Class 10 and 12 Board examinations due to the Covid-19 surge, the Board developed a system of mark tabulation. It was with the assistance of an Expert Committee. On June 17, 2021, the Supreme Court also approved the policy.
