The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet against then Advisor of West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC); then Chairman, WBCSSC; then President of Adhoc Committee at West Bengal Board of Secondary Education; then Assistant Secretary, WBCSSC; then two Programme Officers, WBCSSC and six private persons before the Special Judge, Alipore (West Bengal).

Name of the accused in the chargesheet:

i) Dr. Santi Prasad Sinha, then Advisor at West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) (In Judicial Custody).
ii) Ashok Kr Saha, then Assistant Secretary, WBCSSC (In Judicial Custody).
iii) Dr. Subires Bhattacharyya, then Chairman, WBCSSC(In Judicial Custody).
iv) Dr. Kalyanmoy Gangully, then President of Adhoc Committee at West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (In Judicial Custody).
v) Parna Bose,then Programme Officer, WBCSSC
vi) Samarjit Acharya, Programme Officer, WBCSSC
vii) Prasanna Kumar Roy @ Rakesh, Private Person (In Judicial Custody).
viii) Pradip Singh @ Chotu, Private Person (In Judicial Custody).
ix) Jnui Das, Private Person
x) Md Azad Ali Mirza, Private Person
xi) Imam Momin, Private Person
xii) Rohit Kumar Jha, Private Person


CBI had registered the instant case in compliance of the orders dated 07/04/2022 of Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta in WPA No 5538 relating to illegal appointment of Assistant Teachers in class IX and X in secondary & higher secondary schools across the West Bengal through 3rd RLST (NT), 2016.
It was found that the said accused including public servants/private persons entered into conspiracy with one another in order to extend undue advantage of giving appointment to the unqualified candidates to the posts of Asistant Teacher of class IX and X in secondary & higher secondary schools across the West Bengal through 3rd RLST (NT), 2016, after expiry of panel.
Four chargesheeted public servants including then Advisor, WBCSSC; then Chairman, WBCSSC; then President of Adhoc Committee at West Bengal Board of Secondary Education; then Assistant Secretary, WBCSSC and two private persons, are presently in Judicial Custody.
Further investigation is kept open to look after the larger conspiracy and role of other accused.
