The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested GST superintendents Madhusudhana Kavadiki and Ananth Narhari both posted in Bellary (Karnataka) in a bribery of Rs.80,000.
A case was registered on complaint against a Superintendent working in the Office of Deputy Commissioner, Central Tax, GST Division, Bellary and unknown others on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs, 1,00,000 for closing the file of the Complainant in connection with delay in payment of GST.
Later, the demand of bribe was allegedly reduced to Rs. 80,000.
The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.80,000 from the Complainant.
The other Superintendent was also caught during the trap.
The searches are being conducted at the residential & official premises of the accused.
In another case, CBI has arrested Customs superintendent Shashikant Machindra Deshmukh posted in Chamarajpet, Bangalore for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.8,500 from the complainant, the official note of CBI said on Monday.
A case was registered on complaint against a Superintendent of Customs, Chamarajpet, Bangalore and others on the allegations of demanding bribe for clearance of shipments imported by the Complainant.
The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.8,500.
The searches were conducted at the premises of accused at Bangalore which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
