The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four persons accused in a cheating case of some persons on pretext of facilitate berth in Rajya Sabha, appointment to the post of State Governor, Chairman of government institutions of departments under the Central government case.
The accused arrested are Kamlakar Prem Kumar Bandgar, resident of Latur (Maharashtra), Mahendra Pal Arora, resident of Delhi, Abhishek Boora, resident of Ghaziabad, Ravindra Vitthal Naik, permanent resident of Mumbai/Belgaum, Karnakata in the case.
Mohd. Aijaz Khan, resident of Delhi and unknown persons in the case are not arrested.
The instant case was registered on 15.07.2022 against five accused residents of Latur(Maharashtra), New Delhi, Ghaziabad & Mumbai/Belgaum.
It was alleged that the accused, Kamlakar Prem Kumar Bandgar resident of Latur(Maharashtra) falsely impersonated himself as a senior CBI officer(claiming to be posted at CBI HQ, New Delhi).
This accused entered into a conspiracy with other accused persons, allegedly, to cheat private persons by falsely assuring them for arrangement of seats in Rajya Sabha, appointment as Governor, appointment as Chairman in different Government run organisations under Central Government ministries and departments against huge pecuniary considerations.
The searches were conducted at seven locations including at Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka which led to recovery of incriminating material including WhatsApp conversations and other evidences.
The arrested accused persons were produced before the Competent Court at Delhi on 22 and 23.07.2022 and later released on bail.
