The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested West Bengal Central School Service Commission former Chairman Dr. Subires Bhattacharyya (presently Vice-Chancellor of University of North Bengal) in an on-going investigation of a case.
The arrested accused will be produced tomorrow before the Special Judge, CBI Court, Alipore, Calcutta(West Bengal).
CBI had registered the instant case on 07.04.2022 on the Orders of High Court, Calcutta dated 07.04.2022.
It has been alleged that the accused was involved in manipulation of scores of various candidates before the preparation of panel and the accused in conspiracy with others, had allegedly obtained undue advantage for facilitating illegal appointment of Assistant Teachers in Class IX and X to the undeserving & unlisted candidates for appointment in SSC scam cases in various schools across the State of West Bengal.
In this case, two private persons/middleman were earlier arrested on 25/26.08.2022. Both the accused persons are presently in Judicial Custody till 22.09.2022. Further, FIR named accused in this case, the then Advisor of West Bengal Central School Service Commission was also arrested on 09.09.2022. He has been remanded to Police Custody till 22.09.2022 by the Competent Court.
