In the budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the ambitious National Health Insurance Scheme will require an investment of Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 crore and it can be started from August 15 or October 2 this year. Official sources reported this information.
Under this, a health insurance cover of Rs five lakh will be provided to 10 million poor families on government expenditure and in this, per family is estimated to be spending per 1,000-1,200 rupees per year on premium.
Policy Committee Advisor Alok Kumar said that the expenditure of the National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) will be borne by the Central and State Governments.
It is the world’s largest government-funded health insurance scheme. He said that the central government will bear the burden of premium of Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 crore annually for insurance cover, the remaining amount will be provided to the state governments.
The declared medical insurance plan will be cashless in the budget: Jaitley,
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Friday that the world’s largest medical insurance scheme announced in the budget will be cashless (cashless). After doing treatment expenses on their behalf, there will be no need to claim for payment. He said that it will be implemented from next financial year and allocation of funds will be increased if required.
According to the National Health Conservation Scheme discussed in the form of ModiKare, 40% of the total population ie 10 crore households will be given medical insurance cover upto five lakh rupees after the hospitalization takes place. Jaitley said here that under this, the cost of recruitment in secondary and higher-level hospitals would be insured. Certainly it will include all government hospitals and a select private hospital. This plan can be based on the model of trust and insurance. He said that the discussion between the Policy Commission and the Health Ministry is being discussed on its method. He said that it will be implemented in the next financial year.
While asserting that Jaitley fully funded the scheme, the initial amount of Rs 2 thousand crore has been allocated. Whatever amount is required after the implementation of the plan, it will be given. He said that in the coming year, I am able to see more instinctive conditions. As far as the graph is concerned in direct tax then it will rise fast.
The number of direct tax payers increased
Jaitley said that the number of direct taxpayers increased after the ban and the goods and services tax (GST). I hope to increase the GST collection as soon as there are measures to prevent tax and theft. I do not think revenue is going to be a big challenge.
