From Monday on, Karnataka will unlock its lock-up Covid-19, in effect from April 27, with the exception of 11 districts with a phased unlocking process across the state where infection is not reduced. The lock-down measures are to be relaxed between 6 a.m. and 6 a.m. on June 21.
Karnataka CEO BS Yediyurappa said on the basis of a proposal from the Technical Advisory Committee Covid-19 last Thursday that the decision has been adopted. The government would be able to announce further relaxations and seek cooperation between people in this regard if the situation gets under control. Yediyurappa said.
The government in Karnataka announced the closure of April 27 for 14 days, and from 10 to 24 May in the rising Covid 19 cases, a full lockdown was imposed. It has been extended further until June 7 and again until June 14, when experts have stated that lockout results and cases of coronavirus have fallen.
The existing lockout rules will continue with high test positivity rates for Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, Mandya, Dakshina Kannada, Bengaluru Rural and Shivamogga (TPR). In consultation with the ministers responsible for 11 districts, the government has given district commissioners the power to implement strict measures.
However, in all other districts, including Bengaluru City, night curfew is effective from 7pm to 5 am. The reserve weekend is also open from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Monday from 14 June.
Shops that sell essential goods can open between 6am and 14pm, parks between 5am and 10 am and street vendors can operate between 6pm and 14pm. Self-rickshaws and taxis of only 2 people can ply at a time. The bearings industry can operate at a capacity of 30 percent and factories can open at a capacity of 50%. Government reports that major departments with 50 percent employees can operate.
Food and bars will be available until 14pm for the takeaways in hotels and restaurants. It has been possible to begin all construction activities and it is possible to open all shops for construction activities such as those selling concrete and steel.
Malls, movie theatres, gyms and swimming pools will remain shut down and there will be continuing restrictions on weddings, funerals and public meetings. During this opening phase, metro and bus services are not able to operate, but government permits the movement of passenger vehicles between states and within states.
According to official data, on Sunday Karnataka registered 7,810 new cases of Covid 19 and 125 related deaths. In the southern state there are 180,835 active cases of Covid-19 and 25,51,365 recoveries. Its figure has increased to 2,76 million, and so far 32,913 deaths have been demonstrated.
