In a bizarre incident, a boy jumped on the funeral pyre of cousin sister pulled out by those standing nearby but succumbed to burn injuries in village Majguwa in district Sagar.
The body of Jyoti Thakur (21) was found floating in the well of agriculture field in the village Majgua under limits of Baheria police station of Sagar district.
According to the reports, she went to the agriculture field to take vegetables but did not returned to the house on Thursday night, the family members searched her but unable to trace.
In the morning on Friday when a family member went to the agriculture field for work they noticed the body of Jyoti floating in the well water.
The family members informed the police about the incident, after postmortem the body was handed over to the family members.
Her cousin brother Karan Singh (18) reside in Dhar learnt about the death of Jyoti and was in deep shock, he took the motorbike and left for the village.
On reaching village he straight way went to the crematorium where the body was consigned to flames, before anyone could notice he reportedly jumped on the funeral pyre.
The persons standing nearby rushed to pull the boy out of the pyre till than he sustained maximum burn injuries, they took the boy to the nearby hospital but reportedly died on way.
The matter was reported to the police after postmortem the body of Karan was handed over to the family for cremation on Sunday.
