Bottled fresh air: A bliss or a fad?

From first-ever canned air Canadian company ‘Vitality Air’ to recently launched India’s pioneer in the air business – ‘Pure Himalayan Air’. Bottled air business is a well-established one in other countries and now it seems like the Indian market, too, will soon soar high.

The credit for the business to establish and flourish goes to deteriorating air quality in the country. ‘Pure Himalayan air’ bottle is now available online for Rs. 550 that contains 10 liters of fresh air along with an adjustable air mask to breathe it from. 

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded an overall air quality index (AQI) of 403 in Delhi. While AQI above 153 is considered unhealthy as per defined standards, the current status in the capital is about to become the official genesis of all lung problems. Therefore, the only ultimatum now remains to strategize and implement practical policy plans to forbye not contaminate the air. However, for some, acceptance to breathe out of bottled fresh air was quick, but environmentalists strongly disagreed to it. 

Peepal Baba aka Swami Prem Parivartan also the founder of ‘Give Me Trees Trust’ has so far planted over 20 million trees along with fellow volunteers. Renowned environmentalist, Peepal Baba is in dissent of the ongoing cold-pressed air business.

From his work, it can be noted that he believes in community work and only feasible steps like forestation as the panacea for all environmental problems. Talking to a news daily, he further expressed about the health complications that the artificial air can cause. He said, “Taking artificial air in bits and pieces can increase your dependence on it, hampering the bioengineering of your lungs”.

People from all across the globe are buying these products; however, practical measures for the environment will go a long way and serves best in human interest.
