The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday challenged the Delhi High Court’s 2005 decision to reject all charges against the accused in the politically sensitive Bofors gun deal, in the Supreme Court on Friday. 

Bofors cannon deal is a significant turning point by the investigation bureau in the brokerage case, because the Attorney General KK Venugopal had recently advised him against filing an appeal 12 years after the High Court’s decision. However sources said that after the deep deliberations, law officers had the support of filing an appeal because the investigating bureau presented some important documents and evidence to challenge the High Court’s decision. Delhi High Court Judge RS Sodhi (Retired), on May 31, 2005, all charges including the Hinduja brothers, including the Hinduja brothers, were exonerated in the brokering case of Rs 64 crore in their decision.

Deal of 1437 crores was signed 
between the AB Bofors, which created arms of India and Sweden, for supply of 400 Hvitzer guns of 155 mm for the army, on March 24, 1986, a contract of 1437 crores was signed. Shortly after this, Swedish Radio claimed on April 16, 1987 that in this deal, the Bofors company brokered the top politicians and defense personnel of India.
