Congress MP Digvijay Singh said the Bharatiya Janata Party during change of government in Madhya Pradesh in March 2020 akin to Maharashtra must have made Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia as chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and Shivraj Singh Chouhan his deputy.
Singh said Scindia left the Congress to join the BJP, but he was denied the chief minister’s post.
While Eknath Shinde became the Maharashtra chief minister, the one who was contender for the top post became his deputy (without taking name of Devendra Fadnavis), he added.
He said I brought Jyotiraditya Scindia’s father late Madhavrao Scindia into the Congress.
In the region, some senior Congress leaders got annoyed with me as their political career got over because of it, though I used to pacify them, Singh said.
Over two years back a group of Congress MLAs and ministers led by Scindia revolted and bringing down Kamal Nath-led Congress government in Madhya Pradesh.
They left Congress and joined BJP.
The BJP regained power and made Shivraj Singh Chouhan the chief minister and Scindia minister in Union Cabinet. Singh was addressing a public meeting at Bamori in Guna district.
