Apart from India, Bill Gates Foundation will also invest in women empowerment in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has announced to invest Rs 1100 for women empowerment in these countries. Bill Gates Foundation has announced this one day before International Women’s Day (March 8).
According to the Foundation, areas like gender equality, employment for women and helping them in farming have been included in empowering women in this investment. According to the foundation, this investment is based on the foundation, in which 519 million (64 lakh) for gender equality and 129 million (91 lakh) rupees for the support of women’s movement were invested.
Foundation Co-chairperson and Gates’ wife, Melinda Gates says that women can financially enrich themselves and their family’s life. When women have the freedom to spend and earn money, their faith and strength also increase.
When was the Foundation started
After leaving Microsoft CEO in 2000, Bill Gates started the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in collaboration with his wife Melinda. It is one of the largest private charity institution in the world. In 1999, he donated a share of Microsoft’s Rs 1 lakh crore shares. After that in 2000, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was started with Rs. 32,000 crores. Providing health services and elimination of poverty are among the objectives of this foundation. This foundation will work on the empowerment of women from now.
